How Much Weight Can I Lose in 1 Month in KG: I ballooned from 215 to 257 very quickly, got the stretch marks to prove it, and became disgusted with myself in my busy schedule. I decided to take things into my own hands, and I cut out enormous amounts of alcohol, every sugary drink is known to man (which I've been guilty of pounding down), and transitioned from omnivore to vegan, but found a nice balance while being vegetarian. My calorie consumption during the first 3 weeks, which are in question, was close to 1200-1500 calories... drastically low for my body type and size, I'm aware, but I was resetting everything to a plant-based diet and learning the ins and outs of what nutrients I needed, what foods to eat (and which I liked) and how to make this a daily, lifestyle.

  • Exercise at least 2 hours a week. (This usually looks like running for 30 mins, 4 times a week. This was discouraging in the beginning because I can barely run 2 miles now. I used to run 26.2 miles for marathons! But I did not give up.)
  • Intermittent fasting. (For those who are unfamiliar, Basically, I would fast anywhere from 16-24 hours every single day.)
  • CICO/Eating cleaner. (I limited myself to an average of ~2,000 calories per day. Some days a little more, many days less. I didn't eat fast food, and I only drank water and coffee.)
  • I cook almost every meal, and I track every single thing I put in my body.

I'm completely aware that my results should come with a disclaimer, "Results may vary," but I'm quite stoked that I'm shedding it the way that I am.

I did join a yoga and extreme weight loss program 2 years post delivery. I wanted to knock off 15 kilos ASAP!

My diet

6 am : Black coffee with 1tsp ghee and organic jaggery

7:30 am : 1 glass vegetable juice

12 noon : 1 bowl boiled veggies with garlic, salt and turmeric

6 pm : 1 glass tomato juice

Exercise regime : Yoga twice a day for 1 hour (4 am and 4 pm)

Weight loss : I lost 8 kilos in the first 2 weeks. I lost another 3–4 in the coming month because of the above eating disorder! So overall I lost 12 kilos in 6 weeks. Sounds good? Read on…

During the course - I was extremely moody, irritable, had frequent hunger pangs, puked twice, had frequent headaches and was always low on energy (imagine going through all this and continuing with your daily schedule).

Once I completed the 15 days program I was unable to eat anything for the next 15 days! I would eat and I would immediately feel like puking it out. I think this was one of the worst weight loss programs I had attempted in my life.

I started eating and eventually gave in to my cravings, the weight I lost bounced back BOOM!

My advice : Don’t even think of doing it in one month, try and lose this over 3-4 months for a simple reason - always follow something that can be sustained in the long run. If you lose weight quickly, you will regain it quickly too !
